HOUSTON – (Dec.1, 2021) – Emergency Safety Solutions, Inc. (ESS), creator of the Hazard Enhanced Location Protocol (H.E.L.P.) solution that provides advanced visual and digital warning of disabled vehicles on or near the roadway, today announced that Marc Morial, president and CEO of the National Urban League and former mayor of New Orleans, has joined the ESS Board of Directors.
Morial brings with him a broad range of business and leadership experience from the public and private sectors, as well as a distinguished track record as a globally recognized champion for diversity, equality and opportunity.
Since 2003, Morial has served as president and CEO of the National Urban League (NUL), the nation’s largest historic civil rights and urban advocacy organization dedicated to economic empowerment, equality and social justice. Under his leadership, Morial has expanded the reach of NUL’s services with initiatives such as the Urban Youth Empowerment Program to assist young adults in securing sustainable jobs, establishment of Entrepreneurship Centers in a number of cities to spur growth of small businesses and creation of NUL’s Empowerment Fund, which has provided nearly $200 million to urban impact businesses through both debt and equity investments.
As Mayor of New Orleans from 1994 to 2002, Morial was a popular chief executive with abroad multi-racial coalition who led the city’s 1990s renaissance and left office with a 70% approval rating.

Morial is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. degree in Economics and African American Studies and holds a law degree from Georgetown University. He also is the author of, The Gumbo Coalition, a collection of lessons on the power of unity in our Democracy and a leadership framework for America's change makers.
