As Chief Financial Officer of ESS, Ivan leads the company’s accounting & administration functions. He is an early investor and advisor who so strongly believes in the ESS mission that he formally joined the executive team. Prior to joining ESS, Ivan was Western Hemisphere Vice President of Finance at Control Risks – a London-based global specialist risk consultancy that helps create secure, compliant and resilient organizations by addressing areas such as kidnap & ransom response, strategic security risk management, political risk analysis, and complex cross-border investigations. Control Risks has served approximately 90% of the F500. Earlier in his career, Ivan served in a range of roles at PricewaterhouseCoopers (where he worked in audit and forensic advisory services conducting complex investigations), as well as roles of increasing responsibility in FP&A and senior executive positions at firms including Baker Hughes, Applus, and Mears Group (a Quanta Services Company) – where he led global teams across the Americas, Europe/Middle East/Africa, and Asia Pacific. Ivan holds a BBA in Accounting from the University of Houston, and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Certified Fraud Examiner (CFE), Certified in Financial Forensics by the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (CFF), and a Chartered Global Management Accountant (CGMA).
